HP6310 all-in-one software (?) problem.
Hello all,
I bought 2 of these (for work & home) to standardise on carts. Perhaps a little aged by now. Both purchased from same outlet at same time. Workshop machine has been 100% good. Home machine a pita from day one for various reasons. Both machines lightly used for printing/scanning/copying, no faxing other than occasional receive. Both connected to local networks. Both installed with s'ware that came with each machine. All PC's running XP Pro SP3 with all updates. I scan to .pdf 99% of the time. Recently the home machine has lost the option to scan to .pdf and I am baffled. This has disappeared, not even greyed out. In the past I have uninstalled the home machine completely, including registry. Have tried reinstalling the home machine with s'ware used on the office machine. Same problem. Have downloaded s'ware from HP (several times) then uninstalled & reinstalled the machine. Same problem. I am stumped! The reason for purchasing HP is that the paper run suits my choice of location for the machines, ie. paper goes in the front and not the top. Anybody know of any cause or solution for this problem please? I have heard of the use of a minimal or basic HP driver but I'm not much of a techie. If someone could give me, or point me to, an idiots guide I would very much appreciate it. Many thanks, Nick. England. |

I would just use a different TWAIN compliant software and print to a PDF via PDFCreator of SourceForge. -- Dave Multi-AV Scanning Tool - http://multi-av.thespykiller.co.uk http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/35905.asp |
