Default pc technician HELP !!

Can anyone offer me advice on purchasing the best all round pc
troubleshooting
book, I don't want a book with alot of theory , just straight to the
point symptoms and answers. Thankyou.

Why do you need to bother with books?! You have access to the best and
most expansive information store already... the internet!

If you buy books then they can only give you advice about thing that
are current at the time of publication, and given the rate at which
PC's advance they can be out of date in 18 months. Also you have
access to a wealth of experience and knowledge by using Google groups!
You can't lose!
