Default No Windows sounds at my laptop

I have no Windows sounds at my laptop, from the
beginning. MP3 and streaming and Youtube no
problem but Windows sounds and sounds in games do
not give any sound.

This sounds like a Windows 7 problem.

People who have reduced the "services" on their PC, by
following the suggestions of the BlackViper site, sometimes
end up with a surprise consequence. The AudioEndPointBuilder
service, if you check the Dependencies tab, there is some
other, little known service that it depends on but it is
not listed in the tab, and if you switch off the
little known service, it kills all sound. What I learned
from this incident, is the "Dependencies" in a service
are manually coded by developers, and the OS does not
have automation to automatically figure out what the
dependencies are. This makes using the BlackViper advice, uh,
dangerous, as the BlackViper person relies on that info too.

In this example, apparently there are "groups" associated
with those services. And a permissions problem here, prevents an
audio endpoint from forming.

Having a problem with "just" the Windows alert ding and
friends, that smells like a problem at the Mixer level.
You then need a visualization of the Mixer, showing all
inputs, to look for signs of trouble.

Opening the Mixer panel might show an icon indicating that
path is broken or disconnected (like the pcgamer example).
In this working example, you can see that Windows Sounds
does have a "mute" button at the bottom, as well as a slider.

In general, it's pretty hard to debug sound, because you've
got a few spots to look at and check. You almost have to be
sitting in front of the machine, to think up things to try.

The index for the Windows 7 troubleshooting procedures is
here, if you want to have a look around. The two tutorials
I picked out are not a solution to your symptoms, but are
mainly to show some pictures of what's in there.

Sorry, my fault, it is Windows 10.

The tenforums.com site has tutorials too.

And there is an alt.comp.os.windows-10
