A7n8x new bios
OK - got the beta 1009 bios from asus - my board is a a7n8x rev 1.06 -
running an XP 3000+ (this does list as bios 1008 at post, tho) This bios seemed to unlock my multiplier and I am getting 14x, but I can only get the FSB to 175 or so - so it gets me to 2455 MHz Overall, I think I am better then before. I was getting 13x and 181FSB. But - To get this to run windows, I have had to crank the CPU voltage to 1.85v - I blue screen at 1.80v. So my question is: can I run indefinitely at this voltage? My CPU temp is reported at 47C with out a load so that seems OK and the system has been up for 15 minutes or so. Benchmarks are way, way better, but will it last? |
