Default Could this be overclocking???

Thanks Dave... the odd thing is that I have the problems when I have 2 of
the 133's! If I have a 256-133 in the first slot and a 128-100 in the 2nd,
all works fine! I don't like to mix but this configuration is working... I
was thinking of asking the company to replace the 133's with 100
altogether.... I just may do that since the RMA is still open... Odd it's
happening...

Could still be the same thing as PC133 comes in different timings too;
like if one is CAS2 and the other CAS3.

memory

related- and confirmed to be memory related when I called MS tech

support.

Each stick - one at a time, test clean using memtest386. It is when

2x256's

are installed, mem works fine for a few days, then the system starts
crashing constantly. I go back, keep either just the 128-100 and/or 1
256-133, it's fine... any ideas? I thought this might be a good place

to

post since at one point, the MS rep asked me if I knew what overclocking
was.. afer reading him the code... could the mobo be having a hard time
keeping the 133's at 100? In addition/or due to the Upgradeware socket

as

well???

What might be happening is the BIOS auto setting memory paramters based
on the PC133 with that being too much for the PC100. Try reversing which
socket they're in with the hope it'll pick the PC100 settings.

133 speed ram/ Compaq 5000/ WinXP:

I'm at the conclusion that my PC isn't good at running 133's at

100...even

though the 133's are to Compaq spec and my Presario is 100 only- and is
supposedly able to slow 'em down... for now I have a 256/133 in the

first

slot, a 128/100 in the 2nd... as opposed to 256/133's in each to get to
512... I have access to a 256/100... should I put the 256/100 in the

first

slot and the 256/133 in the second? thank you!

Some more details are the board is supposed to be a Mitac 6513WU, has

133

FSB, Intel 810e chipset- also added, 12. Tually with Upgradeware
copper/tually adapter...

I am guessing something is causing the memory to race a bit?? Am I

making

any sense?

I would help if you described what the apparent 'problem' is. It doesn't
post? Only 128 meg of the 256 meg stick shows up? Total memory shown is
what? Boots but locks up when insert what?

Did you get a low or high density 256 Meg stick? 810E chipset needs low
density.
