Default Is a pentium 4 E, definately a D0 stepping?

I'm looking at getting a 3 ghz prescott cpu, I hear that they changed the
stepping to make them run cooler. Any way to tell whether I'm getting a
newer one or an older one? I'll be getting it from newegg probably, where
they seem to give a bit more info than some stores.

thanks for any advice.
