FSB/RAM MHz vs Low SDRAM Delays
Can anyone tell me which angle is the best to go when OCing? If I lower the
SDRAM delays and CAS latency to 4-2-2-2T, I can only overclock my FSB/memory to 210MHz in the BIOS. If I want to increase FSB/memory to 217MHz, I have to increase the SDRAM delays to 7-3-3-2T. Which should I be focused on? Higher FSB/memory MHz or lower SDRAM delays? Thanks for any replies in advance! Rip |

It depends on which software and benchmarks you're running. If your
applications are memory intensive, tighter memory timing will probably be a little faster. If the applications are more processor intensive, higher FSB might be best. In my experience, changing memory timings will give you about 7% more memory bandwidth, while changing the FSB from 210 to 217 will speed up the processor about 3%. If you're just concerned about bragging about the fastest processor speed according to WCPUID, then go with the higher FSB. "Rip Munsterman" wrote in message ...
