Memory upgrade question
Intel's support is a series of unanswerable emails, so here goes. I have an
Intel MOBO D865PERL looking to upgrade my memory. I currently have two sticks of 256 MB PC2100 and thinking about upgrading to this memory: Speed: DDR333(PC2700) Type: 184 Pin DDR SDRAM Error Checking: Non-ECC Registered/Unbuffered: Unbuffered Cas Latency: 2-3-3-6 T1 Support Voltage: 2.5V Bandwidth: 2.7GB/s Organization: 32M x 64 -Bit Special Features: with Platinum Heat Spreader My question is, will it work ok with my board? Also, what is the major difference between PC2700 and PC2100? (besides 600) Does the 2700 use more power and require a higher watt power supply? I think (if I recall correctly) I tried PC2700 when I built the system and it would not even boot because of the drain on the power supply. I have a 350 watt with 2 hard drives, a CD/DVD Burner, a regular cd rom drive, 2 80 mm case fans and the cpu cooling fan. Nothing else I recall feeding off the power supply. Thanks for the help. |
