Computer Boot problems P4 3.4ghz
I recently decided to build my own computer. I bought the following componen
ts: Motherboard: PCPartner RC410MS7-A65C Socket775 mATX Motherboard w/LAN/SND http://www.pcpartner.com/product_de..07134717-697052 CPU: Intel Pentium 4 550 3.40GHz 800MHz 1MB Socket 775 CPU http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?in..0E775-N&cat=CPU RAM: Kingston 1GB 400mhz 3200 DDR I also bought a video card, wireless card and some other stuff. But I will b e installing these later to avoid driver installation without Windows. I use d my old hard drive and CD/RW drive instead of buying new ones. I installed these components into a new Antec case w/380w power supply. (NSK4400) After installing everything, I decided to power up and the computer turned o n for about 10 seconds and then shut off. I think that the motherboard begin s to recognize the hardware and something is wrong so it fails and shuts dow n for safety. I am am wondering, do I have a bad motherboard? Is this proble m associated with a typical error? Should I try restarting with only the bar ebones components (MOBO, CPU, RAM)? Do I have compatibility issues? Thanks. |

It sounds like maybe it's an overheating problem. Did you install the heatsink with a heat conducting paste (or if it was new heat sink, did you put it with the heat conducting gum)? Or even more basically, did you put a heatsink on it at all? Yousuf Khan |
