Default Thermaltake temperature probe on a Pentium 4

"Darth Elvis" wrote in message ...
Hi,

I just built my PC using a Thermaltake Xaser III, an Asus P4P800 Deluxe and
a Pentium 4 3000Mhz. Following the installation instructions from
Thermaltake, I attached the temperature probe to the body of the processor
using a piece of tape, but I have a bad feeling about it. The probe consists
of a very thin sensor and is covered in plastic. The wires are even thinner
and have to make their way out by placing them in between the pins of the
processor. I had to bend the probe in orde to make it fit. Is the plastic
coating resistant to the high temperatures of the processor? Does anyone
have experience with this?

Thanks,
Darth Elvis

...... darth,

this isnt exactly an answer to your question but im taggin a question
of my own to this post. i just acquired the same case, mobo and
processor. im having an issue with connecting the power supply to the
hardcano control module and individual fans (7 total) im not certain
how to chain the fans and where to plug them all in. darth, with
regards to your question i opted not to use the temp probe because i
wasnt too keen on cramming the probe into the p4 and trying to feed
the wires thru the pins.

no problem even at 100°C for that kind of probes!
