Could be one of those INTEL by design trap. I recently built a system
from Tiger Direct. It was the Athlon64 3000. I installed 512mB of ddr
400 before reading the manual. It was a successfull build but the
instructions for memory upgrades for my motherboard stated a total of
3GB can be installed but.......The first chip has be double-sided and
others have to be single sided if you want to remain at ddr 400 or it
will fall back to ddr300.
