Sony DRM broke my cd drive
So I recently tried to manually uninstall the sony DRM thingy which
had some how made its way in to my computer. Everything worked fine but now my CD/DVD drivers are supposedly corrupted. What can I do?

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, as well as the devices
themselves, but it didn't seem to help.

Horrors upon horrors! I found this site (
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,14817570 ) which tells you how to remove the rootkit safely. I however have deleted several of the offending bits which they insist are designed in such a way that you should never delete them. So I deleted things with regedit that seem have broken my cd/dvd burner. Now what? Can I somehow put those back in? Or somehow replace them? Or is my computer now permanently broken?
