Default FYI: MWAVE is great but FEDEX sux

Worked 14 days straight so I ordered a mobo to install this weekend.
Paid over $23 for overnight on a $100 item, which I never do.
Well..... days later the board is still 40 miles from my office. BTW,
the FEDEX site showed delivery due thursday for about 36 hrs. Now it
gives no ETA. Mwave shipped within hours of getting the order.

Hmmm, all this mess is due to some biddy piece of hurt national pride...
wahooo, big deal... you guys (the US AND the French) should really get
your act together. After all, the French have to accept that right now
the US is the power that is, and the US has to learn to accept other
people's opinions,... because, the French did nothing illegal or even
amoral by opposing military action... I guess that's just my opinion,
but I also have the strong feeling, that it's a very good way to avoid
hypocrisy on this matter.

Well, to be shifting this back to delivering... ordered from
thinkgeek.com last friday (a couple of geeky t-shirts... hey, that's
what they expect from you as a sysadmin at university :O)), shipped with
UPS on Saturday and got the order on monday morning... and that was darn
fast, considering it was transatlantic...

Cheers

Sascha

In my opinion the French were right. The Bush administration lied left and
right to invent "weapons of mass distruction" to justify the fiasco in Iraq.
Now we're stuck there having blown off the UN, Europe, and most of the rest
of the world. I admire the French for having the courage to take an honest
position.

I'd start selling those windows again.

Honest position! Get real!
The French just wanted to protect their Oil Contracts!
The French hardly had an "honest position"!

This seems to be more of a prejudice that is running amok. While France
has supplied weapons to Iraq, through the usual middle-man in the UAE or
Switzerland (quite a common practice to sell weapons without having to
bother with going through EU bureaucracy for exporting to a crisis area)
this has been known for quite some time, and, is technically not worth
the hassle of starting that major cat-fight in the security council.
4 billion dollars in debt owed by Iraq to France is a definite reason...
But, what we are saying here is that France had a reason to object,...
yes, they had interests in Iraq... so what? So did the US... and the way
it looks, the US should not be too boastful, because they violated
international law, and are not particularly well known for their
good-conduct as to that matter. They behaved like a bully, and while
France clearly is not a knight in shining armor, they had their
justified reasons to object.
So, swallow that stupid hate-thing, and look at this objectively.
National pride may be well and good, but start looking at both sides of
the coin, and for heaven's sake don't believe everything the government
tells you. Everybody in this game had ulterior motives.

Total-Fina's oil contract has been often cited as a source for French
opposition to the US in the Iraq matter. Yet, it was made sure by this
enterprise, which is a usual practice in conflict theaters, that those
obligation will be honored afterwards (in fact, this is a business
understanding, and it is very much backed by American companies as well).

So, get rid of this riduculous black-and-white view of the world, nobody
in this game is clean... and the French have neither violated
international law or done anything wrong by using their rights (and it
really does not matter what their motives were, because, as you may have
noticed, I did not bring up US motives here either...)

Cheers

Sascha

Shouldn't have jumped in off topic anyway ...

The Clinton administration also claimed that Iraq was a threat and had
weapons of mass destruction. I'll be willing to bet that you won't
admit that they lied (it was actually one of the few times they
didn't).
