Default HP 4550 - Dirty mark along edge

I just replaced the drum kit in a ColorJet 4550. Since then all pages
have a continuous, 1/3" wide, top-to-bottom black smudging along one
edge. Somehow, I don't think it's the drum itself. It was handled
well and it installed without a problem.

Any ideas what other component may be causing this or how to
troubleshoot?
