Epson LQ 2170 and compatibles
I have an old Epson LQ 2170 which is going to stop working within a few
weeks, I suspect. I looked for a replacement on the web (usual places: ebay, amazon, etc.) but it seems it is difficult to find one at reasonable prices. Instead, it appears that some similar models (LQ-2070 or LQ-2180) are far more common. As I need a printer that works exectly as the 2170 does (I use it to fill pre-printed modules using a DOS program that I wrote many years ago). I tried some other A3 dot printers (Oki, Nec) but they didn't work as expected. Now, the question: how are the 2070 and 2180 similar to the 2170? Can I replace my old 2170 with one of the mentioned substitutes without the computer noticing it and without any change in the output? Thank You. Marco. |
