Works fine for me. Had the very same configuration on many different
motherboards. You may have to go into disk management and set drive
letters more to your liking. Otherwise, no worries.

Dear Abby: My husband is not happy with my mood swings. The other day,
he bought me a mood ring so he would be able to monitor my moods. When
I'm in a good mood it turns green. When I'm in a bad mood it leaves a
big ****ing red mark on his forehead. Maybe next time he'll buy me a
diamond. Sincerely, Bitchy in Boston

BTW. You probably already know this, but in my experience, having the
two HDDs on the primary and the two optical DDs on the secondary IDE
chanels, seems to produce the best speed. YMMV.

Really? I do audio work, and others recommend that the audio drive be on a
different cable than the one with the programs.

At least one issue is about performance, you may cause a bottle neck if the
slower CD-ROM is active when the system disk is accessed. eg playing an
audio CD while you are watchin a Mpeg

Isn't that what I said? (-:
And even if by "audio drive", you meant a HDD with music files on it,
then what I said still goes. I'll try again though, pair the fastest
drive with your system drive. This will usually be the other HDD.

He is asking about adding a SATA HDD. What you say only applies to IDE.
SATA doesn't share channels, each drive is a master. That's why my main PC
is all SATA including the DVD-RW. 3 SATA HDDs and 1 SATA DVD-RW and no
issues.

(-: I stand corrected.
Cheers.

I will not have the cd or dvd drive running when I am doing audio work. I
understood that if I have the audio drive on the same cable as my programs
then there may be sort of bottleneck on the cable. as the program will be
accessing the audio drive also on the same cable. So putting the audio on
separate cable will eliminate this issue
