Default Canon iP5200 printi on CD

Hello,

I have a small but annoying problem:
sometimes, printing on a CD (with CD Label Print) the CD tray is loaded
by the printer for 1 cm then the movement appers to be blocked, the tary
is ejected and the printer fall in alarm (2 flash of yellow led).
Trying 2-3 times, then the print is ok.

It seems the problem is not related with the CD or DVD manufacturer as
it appears with many different ones.

Any suggestion?
Thanks.

Make sure all the reflective squares on the disc are clean.

Yes, all the reflectives are clean.
But now there's a new.
It seems I've found the mistake; well for my english it's not so easy to
explain...

The inner cover is also a guide tha sustain the CD tray during the
loading: if this cover is not perfectly in line with the internal
rollers of the printer, then when the tray is loaded, it can be blocked
by this rollers instead to be pinched. The error is in term of fraction
of millimeters and that's why the problem occour rarely.
The solution is: keep the inner cover lifted up by 1 or 2 mm during the
loading procedure; for this small movement there's no risk to damage the
printer.

If this can be useful for someone else, I can prepare some pictures to
describe better the situation.

Bye and thanks for your attention.

Further to Dan G,
If they've fallen off.... glue a bit of kitchen cooking foil in place
or similar, the size of the indents.

As you push the tray in position, there should be three small ones at
the back as it goes in, 2 on the right 1 on the left and a larger one
towards the centre.

Flipping the tray over there should be 2 large one's near the back....
as you push it in upside down that is. They reflect the light onto a
sensor.

Note: I use the ip5000, I can't say if
the tray is exactly the same as the ip5200.
