Default Novatech - selling second hand kit as new? - Nexus PSUs.

Today I went to Novatech to pick up my Nexus Real Silent 400W PSU which
I had ordered. Invoice SI/3072074 if Novatech are watching.

When I got it, instead of it being boxed as per the catalogue, it came
loose with a scratched case. I said this looks like a second hand one
and asked the guy who was very helpful if he had another, so we went to
the back of the store and got another which was even more scratched.

Anyway, back home and just about to finish my PC, and I now find that
one of the orange wires to the ATX connector has been virtually cut
through and the other wires are damaged.

It would seem I've been sold a second hand unit as this damage could not
possibly have been done at the factory.

Has anyone else bought Nexus PSUs, particularly from Novatech and can
they comment if they come in boxes?

grrr...not sure what to do now!

I've got one of those from Novatech (nice quiet 400W Nexus PSU) - it came in
a box and had no scratches or problems with cables - but I brought
immediately after new stock came in so probably no time for returns to start
coming through.

Well today I had a phone call from Novatech who offered to replace the
unit, but as you say it is quiet and after I soldered the damaged cable,
I decided it was too much trouble to take it out. I was offered £10
compensation, which I have accepted.

The guy checked the stock but couldn't understand why they were on sale
as they were scratched and he has pulled them from sale and will
investigate where they came from.

So, good response, but I remain surprised that their quality control did
not pick up the defective parts.

Can you inmagine what the response would have been, if this had been
ebuyer.

OK, so Novatech ****ed up, but they were happy to replace it, partial
refund, they suspended the stock pending an investigation. At least they
have a clue what customer service is about...

True, but I have just checked my credit card statement and Novatech
did not refund my £10. I'll chase them now. Thanks!

BTW, Novatech have significantly raised the price of them now.
