You placed an order and accepted the price shown on their website when you
placed the order, they charged you that price, and they shipped the goods.
The fact that the price dropped a couple of days after you received the
order is just bad luck. They're under no legal obligation to refund the
difference. Regardless of how it was handled by them, you've got a fair
amount of nerve to be posting not to buy from a company simply because

they
won't agree to an unreasonable demand that you're making.

I have to agree that they don't have to refund the difference, but I don't
think it gives them the right to call him a "git". There's no harm in asking
and doing so doesn't warrant any name calling by their staff/manager.

I'm not defending them on the name calling thing, but then again I would
imagine that after a while you get something of a 'tarnished' attitude
towards people making unreasonable / ill informed / outright stupid
requests. In all honesty, my reaction would have been the same as their
manager's, except I'd have made sure the phone was on mute/hold.

To be honest, never had a problem with them, not like some other
companies.

Just order what I require and that is it (as long as it is in stock).

A lot of problems is actually people ordering the wrong item and as
their expectations are dashed, the blame the supplier.

Many times I have felt like the OP, but I just put it all down to bad
luck and timing.

amazon refunded me 50p on matrix reloaded AFTER i'd bought it

I got £1.05 back for Reloaded :-) They send an email saying they had
dropped the price and as a good will gave lots of people refunds. I
didn't even ask for it either.

Overclockers were the only online retailerto be offering the Intel
Pentium 4 3.2GHz (800FSB) for £353.23 (including delivery and VAT)
(they received stock of these CPU's on Monday) I received my chip on
the Wednesday. On the same day I noticed the price had dropped
again, this time to £325.22 if only I had waited 3 days I could have
saved £28!Normally I would not be to bothered but when a price drops
so soon after an early price drops I feel slightly aggrieved.

Why did you pay £353.23 for it if you felt it was only worth £325.22 in the
first place?

I think only a small percentage of people with a Barclaycard know about the
Price Promise, let alone actually use it, so I can't see them stopping or
limiting the service anytime soon.

As far as I'm concerned, there really is no good reason not to use one.

I did buy the product on my Barclaycard and am fully aware of the
price promise (it's great) I use it as my safety net. I was just
seeing if overlockers would do a similar thing. The true reason why I
wont be sending the product back is I am already using it and I will
claim the money back from Barclaycard, although I expect the first
question they'll ask if "have you tried asking the supplier for a
refund".

Prices drop and sometimes you can get "caught out", buy buying a product
that is £100 one day then £90 the next. This is just a fact of the "shopping
world" we all live in.

As an example, look at petrol. One day it can be 79.9...so you fill up your
tank, then you drive past the sataion the next day and you see it is 77.9
pence.

It's tough isn't it?

I mean surely this was the same stock of fuel they took hold of on Monday!!!

Come on m8. Face it. You were too keen and eager to buy the latest product,
and you don't like the fact that a few days later the price had dropped.

What would you do if they did give you a refund on the difference, then a
few days later it drops again buy £30??? You going to demand a refund in the
difference?

Get used to it. It does happen, it will happne and it's ust a case of tough
luck.

I think this shows you have a different attitude towards spending
money,
Personally if I can save money I will do it unless it's too little to
care about or if it really is too much haste.

I have no compassion for commercial companies they're there to make
money and my aim is to save money.

Your comparison between petrol prices would be a good one, except I
bought the goods via a mail order company,
therefore they are legally obliged to meet the requirements of the
"Distance Selling act"
So I could have sent the product back whether they liked it or not and
then bought it from them again at the lower price.

Now maybe this makes me a nasty person in the eyes of some people
(like i care) maybe these people should wake up and smell the roses,
I have no doubt most companies think about their profits ahead of
their customers, whatever their expensive advertising tries to make us
believe.
