Default SB Live, Value 5.1/speakers?? help!!

Daughter is telling me left channel sounds muted. She'll turn the power
button on the speakers off/on and will help once in a while. I unplugged
the line out,(from the box) and plugged it back in which seems to help 100%
of the time, but will still act up on occasion. Line out goes to sub, which
runs to the right speaker, which feeds the left.

Is a dell, called their tech support, but think dude must have lost his
green crayon, "uh, uh, uh, uh I don't know turn it off and on". Lots of
help, thanks.

Card, speakers, suggestions?

Thanks
Mark

This is probably a grounding problem with the speakers. Is there one of
those infernal "black brick" AC adapters for the speakers? These are
notorious for lin noise - in my humble experience anyway. On my speakers if
I turn up the volume enough theres a low hum when I move the mouse - Is
that an "accessibilty feature" for he hearing impaired? LOL

Crazy as it sounds, check every single connection for the speakers. This is
either grounding, static or other electrical interference. Don;t expect
much help from Dell - they'll just have you pack the thing up and send it
back, and for a simple thing like this its not worth that.

My advice is to borrow a friends speakers and try them. Then if that's the
problem see if Hell - ummmm, I mean Dell - will replace the speakers.
