I bought Paragon Hard Disk Manager 5.5 a couple of weeks ago to resize my
boot partition on a Small Business Server 2000 system. When I tryed to
install the product, the installer reported "
the InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. iKernal.exe
could not be copied to 'C:\Program Files\Common C
Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32'. Make sure that you have the
appropriate privileges to copy files to this folder. (0x20".
I have tried emailing Paragon for some help but I only got the response
below and I haven't had the time to follow this up.
Any ideas a) of how to fix the problem, and/or:
b) how to get any useful kind of response out of
Paragon?
Any help would be mcuh appreciated.
Paul

When might I expect a reply to this message sent yesterday? Your product
will not install on my system even though it seems to be one of you support.
If I cannot get it to work, I will have to buy a similar product from
someone else. If I have to do this, I want a refund of the amount I paid for
yours.
Please reply urgently.

Dear Paul,
I sent you this letter on Friday. Did not you receive it?
NO - I DIDN'T GET IT.
Please see my comments below...

PC I have system administrator priviliges on this box so this is a
PC misleading error message.
Did you have local administrator privileges (not domain)? Did you use
Terminal Services?
THIS IS A WINDOWS 2000 SERVER (PART OF THE SMALL BUSINESS SERVER 2000 SUITE)
WHICH IS THE PRIMARY DOMAIN SERVER. IT DOES NOT HAVE A SEPARATE 'LOCAL'
ACTIVE DIRECTORY SYSTEM SO THERE IS NO 'LOCAL' ADMINISTRATOR' ONLY A DOMAIN
WIDE ONE. I WAS LOGGED IN AT THE SERVER ITSELF NOT REMOTELY VIA TERMINAL
SERVICES. THE MACHINE IS ALSO A TERMINAL SERVER.
PC I don't really understand why your application
PC tries to copy a file which already exists but it is not succeeding.
Please make sure that you are not trying to run the setup twice at he same

PC I have very little spare room on Drive C: (120Mb) which is why I am
PC installing your software in the first place.
PC What is wrong here and what can I do about it? I am unhappy to find
PC that there was no userguide of any kind supplied with the software
PC (downloaded version) so I have absolutely no idea what I am supposed

PC Please respond quickly as I am trying to solve an urgent problem.
