6 week old monitor - recon unit?
Bought a new Samsung Monitor from a computer fair.
Its making some odd high pitched whisting sounds every now and then from inside. I phoned samsung and they are arranging a replacement but are giving me a reconditioned unit in its place. I tried arguing this with Samsung but they say this is all they offer. Any legal standing here to get a new replacement?. I might as well have bought a reconditioned unit in the first place and saved myself the money! |

Your legal protection for faulty goods, under the sale of goods act, rests with the dealer that sold you the monitor, not Samsung. If you cannot contact the dealer, then you may have to accept Samsungs offer, but try and press for a replacement of the same age/condition. Moral - be wary of buying from computer fairs. |

Or you go to the fair often enough and see the same faces enough to know that they're not going anywhere (not for one monitor anyway). Alun Harford |
