Default EVO 620C sound chip

A friend has a new EVO N620C laptop and when he tries to play music he
gets something like "no sound chip".
Where does the sound chip go? Can I install one?
It has XP Pro and the control panel also says that there is no sound
device installed. This can't be right, right??
