Epson Photo 820
I bought this printer because it has good quality and there were a lot of
web sites around that sold compatible inkjet cartridges. Unfortunately, all the compatible cartridges I've bought cause problems. It's like the ink dries up or something and I have to keep cleaning the nozzles. Can anybody recommend a good compatible cartridge that works like the original? |

Make sure to get the cartridges a nudge to the right when you shut the
printer off or when it sits for a long time. For some reason it doesn't park all the way to the right. If you start doing that I bet you won't have a problem. "Rick" wrote in message ... Can anybody recommend a good compatible cartridge that works like the original? I dont have an 820, but I do have a Stylus Photo 785 EPX. The 2nd party Cartridges from www.inksupply.com have given me NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, while on the other hand, several Epson Branded Carts (those assembled & filled in Mexico) have given me clogs like crazy. The Epson branded carts made in Taiwan were trouble free. -- Larry Lynch Mystic, Ct. |

Are you sure it's because of the different cartridges you are trying? I went
through three different 820 Printers, because I kept getting banding. Epson did replace all three through warranty. Finally I bit the bullet, and bought the 2200. Absolutely fantastic printer. I just wish there were more paper options to choose from. Ronzo Rick wrote in message ... If I use an Epson cartridge, it works fine. When I use the compatibles, I
have to clean the heads at least 3 times when I install the new compatible cartridge. Then if my printer sits for a few days, I sometimes have to repeat this procedure. This is true for both black & color cartridges. "Ronzo" wrote in message le.rogers.com... Are you sure it's because of the different cartridges you are trying? No, I didn't realize that.

Make sure when you aren't using the printer that the head is parked all the
way to the right. Just get the cartridge a nudge to the right and you will see that it moves a little. It will help with your clogging issues. "Rick" wrote in message ... Yes, there is a setting you can check in the utility menu under printer
properties. Check to see what it is set for. If you put in the matte black cart. you will get diff. options that if you are using the photo black cart. It is explained in the manual.
