cannot play ECD format CDROMs
Just put together a new system with standard cd drive. I have
encountered ECD formatted CDs for the first time and I cannot play them. What is up with this useless ECD crap? Is it possible to play these CDs? How?

I guess you missed the important part...about your ROM needing to be able to read multi session disks....or it could be you stumbled
