Default Gah! Computer Won't Switch On - HELP!

morning guys

Ok, simply my PC won't switch on.. here's what happened..

Went to install a new TV card last night, turned off computer and
unplugged all the periphals from the back of the PC, took off the side
of the case and slotted TV card into spare PCI slot (no other hardware
was touched or removed / changed). Turned the "I | 0" switch on the
power supply back on, motherboard LED came on. Went to switch it on
from the front of the case, and... nothing. Turned off everything
again, unplugged periphials and took side of case of. Tried again.
Motherboard clicked slightly (like it was trying to start up) and CPU
fan jolted slightly, but still nothing.

Made sure everything was seated into motherboard, all seemed well, even
took out TV card (thinking that may be the problem), and still the same
thing happened. Even replaced the PSU with a working one to see if that
was the problem and still nothing changed.

The only thing I can think that it may be is either the actual on/off
switch on the box, or the motherboard has borked during the fitting of
the new card.

I have an Abit NFS-7 motherboard. Is there any sort of tests I can use
to test any of these things out? Maybe something like bypassing the
On/Off switch on the box? Does anyone else have any similair
experiences? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

The momentary fan jolt is the power supply trying to come on but crow
barring from an overcurrent so, somehow, somewhere in your work you've
introduced a short that's crow barring the power supply. Could be a cable
that's not right, even though you think it is, something shifted and is now
touching a component (e.g. loose power connector), or it could even be a
motherboard standoff in the wrong position that, by luck, was not touching
the underside of the motherboard till you got in there mashing on it.

Could also be the mashing shifted a PCI/AGP card and they can be misseated
even when they look good. Worse yet, I've seen cards that will *not* seat
by simply 'pushing' on them after they're already in. You need to first
*remove* and then reseat the cards.
