Default ATI folder

Hi,

I've noticed that each time I install a newer version of driver a folder is
left on the system as follows:-

C:\ATI\support\wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-09-041221m-020455c

C:\ATI\support\wxp-w2k-ccc-8-062-040929a-018115c

C:\ATI\support\wxp-w2k-ccc-8-071-041026a-018719c-english

In addition to the above there are two other folders:-

C:\ATI\support\ATI_UTILITIES

C:\ATI\support\cat-uninstaller

I reckon the cat-uninstaller needs to stay where it is and maybe the
ATI_UTILITIES also. However is it safe to delete the three other driver
folders?

Cheers

Rob

It is safe to delete the ATI folder and free up space. It's like when
you download a ZIP file, you extract them to another folder you created
or the desktop. That's the same thing with these ATI setup files. It
extracts itself to the given location. And seeing the path, you left
it as default.

Anything that is in the ATI folder you can find in the ATI main website
www.ati.com So, yes, it is safe to delete the ATI_UTILITES and
cat-uninstaller and the ATI folder itself.

The ATI_ULITIES and the cat-unistaller can be found here if you don't
believe me...
http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/m...lystutils.html

I myself delete ATI folder and free up about 30MB of space.

Maybe you should pay more attention when installing the cats. You are asked
where you would like the files extracted to, the above directories are the
defaults.

They are only needed for the installation process.
