Default Audigy 2 card thinks its SB Live card

Hi folks,

I used to have a vanilla SoundBlaster Live card. I recently bought a
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Value card, but when I go to install the software, it
thinks it's a SB Live card. The install disk won't let me install for the
Audigy 2 card.

Installing the SB Live drivers makes the card work, but I assume I'm not
getting all I can from the card this way. And... games and so forth think I
have the SB Live card, and won't let me choose the same options as if I had
the Audigy 2.

Can someone please suggest a way for me to get around this? Am I doing
something wrong? Uninstalling and reinstalling both the card and the drivers
doesn't seem to be the answer.

Thanks so much.
Greg

I think you have to uninstall all the Live and Audigy software completely,
reboot and then install the Audigy software.
