Default Compaq 5300NX Ram Question.

I currently have 512megs of DDR in it now. What's
hightest I can go? I want atleast 1gig. Also
can I use different speeds of ddr in one machine?

If you mix your good ram will only run as fast as your slowest ram.

Max is 1gig. - 512 PC2100 DDR (x2)
Did the same upgrade on my Evo at www.crucial.com
Under $150 US with free shipping.
I can highly recommend them.

Thanks for the info! 1gig should be enough to
emulate windows 2000 under Linux don't you think?

For know with VMWare, and soon maybe with win4lin.
