LCD monitor resolution vs aspect ratio
I have noticed that 19 inch lcd monitors have a native resolution 1280 x
1024, and have display aspect ratios of 4:3. It would seem the aspect ratio should be 5:4 or does it not matter.

Aspect ratio isn't usually a big deal, but yes 1280x1024 is different for whatever reason -- It's nothing specific to LCDs though. -- Why is a person who plays the piano called a pianist, but a person who drives a race car isn't called a racist?
