Default be6-ii help

Hi,
Just got back from vacation and went to boot up an old machine with a BE6-II
mother board.

First it made an alarm sound. I checked to make sure the voltage wasn't set
to 200 and it wasn't. I tried removing the RAM and that had no affect. I
finally ended up fiddling with the ribbon cable to the hard drive and got it
to make it to the first start window where you can press delete to enter
setup, but it doesn't respond when you hit delete and it doesn't continue to
boot.. Sometimes it doesn't even do that....just a blank screen, but no more
alarms. I tried replacing the ribbon cable, but got no results.

Has anyone got any suggestions??

Do the capacitors on the board look "bulging" or standing at strange angles?

There are three near the CPU that may be a little. I don't often look at
them so it's hard to say.

Do they look like this? ;

It might be easier to see, if you take the board out.

btw;

A: Because it messes with the order that people normally read stuff in.
Q: Why is Top-posting a problem?

No way. Even I would have seen red flags if they were burned like that.

Have a similar motherboard. It is notorius for problems with the caps
near the Processor slot. Check if these caps are either bulging or
leaking "goo" . If they are you will have to change them. Either DIY,
your local electronics store or Gary Headley in Utah.

Good luck
