What is the largest LUN that can be presented to a Windows host?
I've heard different answers to this. Is 2TB the limit? Thanks in

I would recommend spending a few hours on www.msdn.com if you really need to handle large luns safely, as there are several considerations involved in what you want to do with them... boot from them, create gpt partitions on them, whether your client is 32 or 64 bit, and whether you are talking about Windows XP, Windows Server 2000 [and what service pack], Windows Server 2003 with SP1, or Windows Server 2008. I notice that Microsoft on some of their documents is still adding the common sense that just because you can do it is not necessarily a really good reason to do it... aka how long does check disk take on a 30 terabyte LUN should it ever be needed. |
