Default Anyone have any issues with the keyboard port on the Abit Kx7-333R ?

I have not experienced any keyboard problems. Be sure the problem is
not the keyboard wire, the keyboard connector, or a ATX to PS2
adapter.

My mouse wire goes out every few years. The wire wears out right
where it leaves the mouse. These ball-less mice last a long time.

I have a Athlon 2800 in my kx7. I can't see replacing this
motherboard until cpu speeds are at least 5600.

Yeah its old , its my backup PC. Ive had it for a while but noticed
the KB doesnt work 90% of the time. I have to use a USB KB and that
only works when WINDOWS XP boots up.

I cant get to the bios screen.

The samething happened to a neighbors Abit Kx7 333 which I RMAd for
him a year after we bought both of them. However mine started cutting
out 2 years ago. Any widespread problem on these I dont know about?

Corrosion?

Sorry, don't really know what the official max cpu is. I've not paid
much attention. Any 166MHz FSB socket A should work (assuming you're
already running the FSB at 166). A multiplier locked 200 MHz will
work, but will run slower since you can't get to 200 MHz FSB on the
kx7.

Right, manual bios settings are required for anything past the
"official" max cpu.

This chart may help out with the various Athlon varieties.

Yeah the wire is the obvious thing but Ive tried 3 different KBs that
work perfectly with other PC systems all new. What happens is it
doesnt light up at all during the boot process or recently all light
blaze on on the KB when you first insert the plug and then nothing -
no lights after that when booting up and no response.

I got the USB KB to work even in the bios screen so Im using that but
its hogging a USB port. I think the only remedy is to add more USB
ports. Ive inserted a pin in the holes and gently scraped around just
in case it is corrosion which is a problem here but no change.

Officially what was the highest CPU it could take? Athlon 2600 or so?
It can take semprons right but the bios doesnt recognize it properly?
