Default Integrated Dell sound or Soundblaster 24bit?

Hi,

I have a Dell Dimension5100 which I purchased around 6 weeks ago. It
has an integrated Sigmatel sound card, (I can't find a model number for
it).

A friend of mine has upgraded his machine and replaced the soundcard,
(Creative Sound Blaster Live 24 bit), which he's given to me.

Is it worthwhile putting the Soundblaster in my Dell or is the
integrated Sigmatel better?

Thanks!

Sam

the soundblaster should be better, but you may not notice any difference.
just insert it and the internal one will be automatically disabled. then
tape over the jacks for it so you dont get confused.

Why? The integrated is 7.1, isn't it?

Well considering it was free, I'd personally swap it.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I think I'll swap it out and see what happens. It just seems a seems a
shame to leave it lying there!

Merry Xmas!

Sam
