Default Nvidia Driver Issue

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit - Nvidia GT640 with 353.06 driver
I am getting a black screen for a few seconds and then a message that
says the Nvidia driver stopped responding and has recovered. I totally
removed all Nvidia programs and installed the latest driver. Still
getting the problem. Any ideas what next?
