How to map DLT Tape drive as drive letter (Tapedisk, DATMAN, DTA)?
Hi there,
is there a possibility to map a DLT drive as a drive letter. Something like Arcada Tapedisk, DATMAN or Veritas Direct Tape Access. These products seem outdated and not available anymore. Is there any recent Software available? Thanks. |

Software companes have gone away from emulating disk drives with tapes.
The performance is horrible, and you can't emulate a real disk, just something that resembles a WORM drive. Users tend to forget the limitations and support becomes a nightmare. To do it properly, you have to combine disk and tape and create a HSM, which is a different class of product. |
