Default P4SDX Hard Disk Placement for ATA133 support

Hi guys,

I am having another problem. I am using Win2k with SP4. All IDE
drivers are latest; I even re-installed the IDE 2.03 drivers from SIS.
Recently, I found out that my 80GB hard disk on pri master is not
running in UDMA 6 mode, it is running at PIO4. However, a 60GB hard
disk on the pri slave is running at UDMA 6 mode.

how is it possible for the master to run at PIO while the slave runs
at UDMA6?

Then I removed the 60GB and reboot the machine only with a 80GB. All
ended up in PIO4 other than Cable Select. Here's a list of
combination and result shown on SIS IDEUTIL:

Jumper @ Master
- Connected to grey connector = PIO
- Connected to black connector = PIO
Jumper @ Slave
- Conneted to grey connector = PIO
- Connected to black connector = PIO
Jumper @ Cable Select
- Connected to grey connector = UDMA6
- Connected to black connector = PIO

What the heck just happened?? Why CS @ grey connector yields UDMA 6?
The most interesting thing is, the BIO shows up the hard disk is on
UDMA6 mode when POST. Why it turns back to PIO4 when getting in
Windows 2000?

I am so annoyed by this... My 80GB is brand new Maxtor Ultra 8MB
series... my 60GB is the D740 and doesn't have this problem..

Any help would be appericiated.

Phillis
