How to Stop Floppy Drive from Turning On When Shutting Down?
I'm running Windows ME. When I shut my computer off the floppy drive runs for a few seconds. I know it's supposed to do that when I start my computer but how do I stop it from doing that when I shut down? |

I'd bet you're running Norton. If so, change the Norton config to not check
for a floppy on shutdown. Tom "Von Fourche" wrote in message k.net... I'm running Windows ME. When I shut my computer off the floppy drive runs for a few seconds. I know it's supposed to do that when I start my computer but how do I stop it from doing that when I shut down? |

I can't find how to turn the floppy scan off. I'm running the newest verion of McAlfee 9.1 I also run Mcafee and get the same behaviour. It is what I would expect. Its function is to protect against boot virus's on when booting if a floppy has been accidentally left in the floppy drive. I would not want to switch this off and on my ME system it takes less than a second to test the drive. -- Nicholas David Richards - "Oł sont les neiges d'antan?" |
