Default DVD comes up "Out of Region"?

I pop a DVD in and I get a error popup that this DVD is out of region
and that I can choose another region. But I only have 5 left. What does
all this mean? I pop it in my old Gateway and it plays.

I`d avoid techtronics - check out google - they`ve got a crap customer
service record apparently, uk.media.dvd can confirm this

Assuming your in the US, just choose region 1, you'll be good to go from
here on out.
