Default Video board temperature

I'm about 2 months into running my first home-built pc. I downloaded
the program SpeedFan today and discovered my EVGA nVidea GeForce9800
is the hottest thing in my machine at 64 degrees C. The board does
have its own monitoring program, and it shows you a temperature graph
but doesn't put and numbers on the graph?!?!?!?!? I could feel that it
was hot, but 64 seems a very high number. Does anyone else know their
vid board temps to compare with me?

I don't think it's excessive. If I were you, I would also post to
the NVIDIA group. You could also try a search of the USENET archive.

Do the NVIDIA drivers come with a temperature monitoring utility? I
seem to recall mine looking about the same with a maximum preset cut-
off temperature of somewhere around 95°C?

Thanks. I did find a nVidea Forum
http://forums.legitreviews.com/about...b07145c139 9a
and also went back to NewEgg and looked some customer reviews that
echoed your comments.

I can't figure out whether the thing has a fan in it or now, it's all
buttoned up tight. And I guess I'm too dumb to use RivaTune.
