Have fun explaining those early Barras, child.

Early Barracuda drives overheated (had thermal issues) due to a poor
transistor selection for the spindle motor drivers, a poor driver
circuit design that allowed said transistors to overtly dissipate
instead of conducting, and a PCB that could not handle said drivers.
Even the spindle motor technology has advanced since then.

You clueless ****tard.

Kony and Phat (and anybody):

What's your take on this thingy?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118215

It appears to soak heat off the sides of the drive.

Where would the drive's heat sensor be?

Would this actually help cool the bottom of the drive? Maybe not the board
but the spindle and motor?

Thanks for that completely superfluous proof that you have
never ever had a ****ing clue about anything at all, ever.

You must have been looking in a mirror when you wrote that lame
remark. You use it so often, it must really be you sub-consciously
telling yourself that fact about yourself.

Kony,

Thanks for the composition.

Luckily my HD stays between 16C and 29C. It's up in a 5 1/4" bay, though,
without great air flow.

That is quite cool. No problem at all.

And have fun explaining how come some drive manufacturers explicitly state
that the drive temp limits apply to a specific location on the top cover, child.

Cite!

And even if they do, they are considering that NON cooled surface as
being a mean temperature for the drive.

D'OH!

Pathetic, really. It cant 'radiate' from the logic card
thru the body of the drive, to the top cover, child.

That has to be one of the most retarded remarks you have made yet.

Anyone with even half a clue knows that the driver card's heat does
NOT get conducted to the platter box lid of ANY hard drive.

Pity about the platters, child.

Do you ever explain ANY of your totally bull**** childish remarks?

Wrong, as always. If you have ample cooling over
the logic card, with the drive mounted with that on
top, THE COVER WILL STILL BE WARM, child.

That should give YOU a clue. Though I am sure you will never get it.

It is not "the logic card" either, dumb****.
