If everyone did that all the power stations could cut back, I guess. Plus less wear and tear on wires and fiber optics. -- Ed Light Smiley :-/ MS Smiley :-\ Send spam to the FTC at Thanks, robots. |

I find this move by amd to be no diiferent than GM taking a chevy and putting the name Cadilac on it and doubling the price. Buyer beware. That doesn't mean that whole Sempron series is not worth its price. Sempron 2300+ with its price lower than XP 2000+ is pretty cheap processor. The cheapest Sempron I could find was a 2400+ for $60. That's the same as a 2000+ XP, which sells for $48. But it's your money.:-) I just picked up from Fry's in Dallas a Sempron 2200+ and a ECS K7VTA3 motherboard combo for $49. That was $25 for the Sempron 2200+ and $24 for the motherboard. This combo is the cheapest I have seen in a long time. My mom will be more than happy as this system will replace her aging K6-400 system. Steve |

And not too many weeks ago they had the same board with an XP 2200+ for the same $49. Which would you prefer to have, a Sempron 2200+ that performs the same as an XP1800+, or an XP2200+ that performs the same as, yep, an XP 2200+.:-) And i won't even get into the other limitations of the Sempron. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.htm |
