It's been known for decades.

Indeed, it's similar to the scenario on communications satellites when
the charged solar wind builds up a static charge on the surface of the
satellite which results in some of the on-board electronics switching
off or on when it arcs over. A right pain in the butt that has been
known since the early days of satellites (40+ years)!

Long _before_ satellites.

Hello,

Meeeee, Skybuck, has possibly discovered a new problem with air cooling
for electronics:

Static electricty could build up... because the wind is rubbing it's
electrons against the materials, like plastics and so on.

Static electricty could build up at which at a certain point it might jump
over to electronics and cause damage ?!?

Some links explaining how static electricity works:

discovered a new problem/limitation to air cooling electronics ? !

Bye,
Skybuck

John Galt had a static motor up and running his life's day to day.

as far as I know he still uses static electricity to power his motor. Maybe
you could harness the cooling fan static electricity ?

I know ! Every once in a while stick your finger in the fan to degauss it.

this isn't rocket surgery.
