Cold storage

I live in the state of Maine & I have a large collection of CDs stored in the
barn. It is not heated & our winters sometimes drop below zero at times.
Does this extreme cold affect CDs both store bought as well as
CDRs, DVDRs & blank media ?

Expert opinion seems to be (paraphrased) "We not sure, but it doesn't
seem to be a good idea." The immediate concern is condensation, the
second is differential expansion by the layers.
