HP 812c Acting up!

I have had nothing but good service out of my HP 812c printer for two or
three years. Recently it started a new routine that's no big deal but I
would like to fix it.

When I turn it on it goes through all the routine growling and clanking and
the lights all come on and blink alternately, and then it stops, with the
"Power" light blinking and the "Paper" light on. If I press the "Paper"
light it will run out one sheet of blank paper, then the "Paper" light goes
off and the "Power" light stays on like it is supposed to. After that it
will print without a flaw all day -- no problem. I can even turn it off
during the day and if I turn it back on before it cools, it will come on OK.

Like I say, it's no big deal, and it prints great once it get through its
routine, but having to wait for it to go through it's dance and put out a
piece of blank paper is kinda aggravating !!

Any ideas?? Should I reload the driver?
