Default vidcard pci-e v.2.1 & mobo pci-e v.2.0 is allright?

Hello,

I am going to buy a mainboard with pci-e slots v.2.0 and would like to
use a videocard with pci-e v.2.1 with it. Will that work?

Maybe. The only source for incompatibility I know is that PCI Express
2.1 allows for up to 150 W power from a PCI-E slot, up from 75 W in 2.0.

So, if you have the videocard in hand, its rated power is over 75 W and
it has no extra power connector = not compatible with a PCI-E 2.0
motherboard. No idea if anyone has made such a videocard though.

Yes.
All PCI-e revisions are backwards compatible.
PCI-e 2.1 is the same speed as PCI-e 2.0 but supports features planned
for PCI-e 3.0.

Thanks! I already tried and saw that it functioned without smoke. ;-)
