Want to reset S.M.A.R.T. data
I have a WD 320GB SATA drive that I want to reset the S.M.A.R.T. because
I want to see if the error is due to the SATA cable or the drive itself. The drive was having loud clicking noise before, but the noise is gone after I changed the data cabe.

Good thing, because otherwise people could ''repair'' defective drives and sell them as in good condition. For your application you do not need to reset anything. Just see whether new errors are put into the disk's log. Arno

And how exactly do the PC3000 people manage to figure it out, babblebot. Babblebot, always eager to be the first so he can make a fool out of himself. For your application you do not need to reset anything. Just see whether new errors are put into the disk's log. Arno
