BTW, what makes the P-M so much more efficiency?

Mostly the P-M is based on the Pentium 3 core, therefore it is much more
efficient than the Pentium 4 core. And it's got a 1MB of cache vs. only 512K
for the Athlon core. That's how it stays ahead of these other architectures.

Another case of Intel using their manufacturing prowess to their
advantage. They can make the big chips and still get good yields.

That may be true but it doesn't apply here. The P-M is 84 mm2, about
the same size as a 256 KB Athlon and about 17% smaller than a 512 KB
Athlon.

Paul W. DeMone The 801 experiment SPARCed an ARMs race of EPIC
Kanata, Ontario proportions to put more PRECISION and POWER into
architectures with MIPSed results but ALPHA's well
that ends well.
