My company Just Call Me Pete Productions INC. ordered several of these computers from DELL. Double the amount came to my company. In contacting DELL, they stated to keep the extra computers for it was their error. I am offering you guys the benefit of DELL's mistake. Total Cost of computer is $3868. If you go to DELL website and chose all of the items listed below you will see the cost of each computer. THIS IS A COMPLETE SYSTEM Call me jaded, but I'm having a real hard time with "they stated to keep the extra computers for it was their error." Larry |

In article ,
(Lawrence Glasser) says... Call me jaded, but I'm having a real hard time with "they stated to keep the extra computers for it was their error." If Dell gets a return, the complete cost of the computer comes out of the salesman's margin numbers. The sales staff is far better off to generate an order credit and just give you the machines. If it was indeed a shipping error, nothing would be billed anyway, a return on half a dozen XPS machines would kill a whole week's margin, and quite possibly lead to the salesman getting fired. Keep the computers. -- http://home.teleport.com/~larryc |

Keep the computers. If that is the way big businesses commonly work then it is no wonder the corporate spiral is going the way it is, "I loose the company twenty grand, nobody will notice AND I get to keep my job." |

And telling a customer to keep a shipment of PC's wouldn't! If it was a shipping error, there would be no adjustment to the sales margin either. |

says... And telling a customer to keep a shipment of PC's wouldn't! If it was a shipping error, there would be no adjustment to the sales margin either. That's not the way Dell works. The customer would get return credit for the excess computers, and end up not having to pay for the ones they actually ordered. The salesman would still get screwed. -- http://home.teleport.com/~larryc |

As he would if the customer didn't pay for them.
