Read the EULA. You have agreed to having MS invade your machine and remove anything THEY think you shouldn't have, such as a second copy of the OS. They don't need to ask your permission. In fact, if they think you should have bought an upgrade they can remove all copies. Your needs and wishes have nothing to do with it. And installing service pack 3 on win2K allows this same EULA even though you agreed to a different EULA when you bought it? They change the rules when they fix their own bugs on software YOU paid them for???? No thanks! -- Stacey |

"Timothy Daniels" wrote: Here's how to boot between two Windows XP systems without using any special softwa Some guy from Microsoft said that the EULA says that you do, but I doubt that it could be upheld in court. How does Microsoft suffer if you have two copies of the same OS in the same machine? They don't get twice the money? Does Microsoft even care? Sure they do. If I have 4 machines that I use one at a time at home, they want me to buy 4 copies. Same with 2 on one machine. It's all about more money for MS. If you can make copies of your purchased musical CDs for your own personal use, why can't you make copies of your operating system for use on your own *single* PC? Because MS says so and the courts WILL back them up! -- Stacey |
